Boil Water Advisory
Village of Granisle Water System
BOIL WATER NOTICE
Due to a recent break in the water mains, potentially contaminated water has entered the distribution system and there is a significant risk that the drinking water may contain disease-causing organisms. These organisms include bacteria, viruses and parasites, which can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, cramps, headaches, nausea or other symptoms. Boiling the water kills these organisms. People with weakened or undeveloped immune systems are most at risk; this includes elderly people, pregnant women, very young children under 2, people with AIDS, cancer, diabetes or kidney disease and people being treated with immune-suppressing medications. If you have recently begun to experience symptoms of gastrointestinal illness, it is recommended that you consult your primary care providers.
Options for water users are to bring all water to a rapid rolling boil for at least one minute and let it cool before using; use bottled water; or, use an alternative approved source of water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice. We will inform you when you no longer need to boil your water.
