Christmas Decorating Contest
Location: All around town
It’s time to get creative and make the judges’ jobs even harder than last year. Judging will be on December 13th, 15th, and 18th from 7pm to 8pm. Please ensure your displays are lit. Winners are to be announced on December 20th, 2017 at the evening council meeting.
Think sleigh bells and holly, think Santa Claus and reindeer. Consider using red and green for the best traditional effect. Decorating with a stately religious theme such as a traditional manger would also be considered for this category
Create a Christmas wonderland in your yard (Christmas characters, toy soldiers, snow men, candy canes, etc.) Weave lights through your trees, shrubs, even wreathes and garlands. “Whimsical” is the effect the judges are looking for.
Best Overall Display Award
For those who can put it all together (lights, greenery, door decoration, façade, yard, etc.) this award is within your reach! Simple or extravagant, the overall effect is what counts.
Prizes will be given in each category, and of course a grand prize for best overall!
Remember – above all, no matter what you do – a simple pine wreath on the front door or 10,000 lights in your trees – it all adds up to the celebration of Christmas in Granisle and the festive collaboration of an entire community. We look forward to your participation!
